If you are in need for emergency assistance, your gross household income is below posted guidelines, or you currently are enrolled in WIC, SNAP/FAP or CSFP, you qualify for assistance from Harbor Impact Ministries.  This is a necessary organization, that is always in need of volunteers.  If you could lend a helping hand...the dates are Nov. 21 & Dec. 19.   They are also in need for plastic grocery bags - if you have any extra, please drop them off in the library.  Please contact Barbara Hanneke with any questions, concerns, or to let her know you are coming!  (810) 982-5312.

A HARBOR CHRISTMAS

We are blessed with an opportunity to literally light up the lives of our friends and neighbors this holiday season!  It’s a Harbor Christmas!  The back of the Blue Water Free Methodist Church will be transformed to a beautiful, gleaming, Christmas shop on November 20 from 9:00 am until it’s done!  There are boxes and boxes of donations waiting to be placed on the tables and floors with items such as trees, wreaths, lights and ornaments, tree toppers, tree skirts, planters, floral arrangements, garlands, wall hangings, candles, collectibles, linens, kitchen items, wrapping paper and bows, toys and crafts, baskets and knick-knacks—get the picture?  My vision is to make a Kimball Township Bronner’s—the biggest difference being that all our items are FREE to our clients!

Time is critical, as we can’t set up until Monday, because the sanctuary is busy on Sunday!  We need volunteers with a happy heart and holiday spirit to assist.  We need people with strong backs to help move the boxes in and those who like to unwrap packaging and make things pretty!  We need YOU!!

Then, for those who didn’t get enough, or for those who want to do more, we need about 6-8 workers for the shop on Tuesday from 8:30 until noon.  Harbor services from 350 to 500+ families a month and it gets busy and crowded.  If you can help, please sign up on the sign-up sheets on the back table in our sanctuary.

For those who have donations, please bring them to church and we will take them to Harbor for you.  If you have a large number of items to be picked up, please let Mary Ann or Deuane Martin know and they will make arrangements to have this done.  Be a blessing this month and help us make this the best Harbor Christmas ever!

Thanks,

Mary Ann Martin, Mission Chair
