I hope you’ve noticed the reddish colored box next to the mailbox, facing 3rd Street.  We are so fortunate to have learned of a program from the Women’s Life Insurance Society in Port Huron which provided the box, free of charge, and fully stocked to us.  Thank you to Nancy Kennedy who brought this idea to our attention at our Mission Meeting in March.  The Society plans to place doors on the lower half of the pantry so we can put other items in there eventually.

We are going to stock the LFP ourselves and are asking you to bring in some non-perishables that can be a blessing to those who find themselves without food for whatever reason.  The intent is not to provide a long-term solution, but a quick rescue to a dire need.  Please help us by bringing in such items as peanut butter, mac and cheese, tuna, stew, cans of pasta meals, etc.  We are hoping the community will respond to a note on the box that says “Take what you need—Leave what you can.”  There is to be no cash exchanged, just food.  Thank you for joining us in this new mission to our community.

As we serve our Christ,

Mary Ann Martin, Mission Chair
